    give them a relevant name e.g product xyz, then call the image "product-xyz.jpg"

    and give it an alt tag

    What is the point in your question? You are already tagging images. All that to plug your sig file?

    alt tag definitely work. i've been doing this quite awhile now and my traffic increases which comes from google images.

    Make your image Size, clarity good.
    Put ALT on each Image
    Put title tags
    submit your image in which website provide Photo gallery
    Make image name keywords wise
