SEO Friendly expanding menus

    Hi there.

How SEO friendly are expanding menus?

    Example: http://www.solotechnic.co.uk
The navigation section on the left hand side.

Could anyone suggest an alternative technique, or should I return to static menus?

    Thanks. :)

They are using Javascript for those menus. I don't think you can have expanding menus without them. You can use CSS based menus, but I'm not sure if they will serve the purpose as you want.

You can have expanding menus with just plain HTML, PM me and I'll give you a URL for a site I'm working on that has expanding menus. It's not the most elegant solution but it does work and I believe it is also SEO friendly.

Just a thought, you could leave your main navigation method as it is, then put a seo friendly text navigation structure at the bottom of the site for the SEs to crawl.

You can use CSS based Menus. Java Script based menus are nothing or you can place your links on the footer as a basic navigational Menu on the footer (direct text Links)

you can use search engine friendly CSS menus....or you can use the javacript menus but include a text navigation at the bottom of the page...
