SEO Friendly Domain Names

Hi guys,

I am in the process of starting up a new business.
Whilst picking the right domain I am adding two highly searched words but cannot get these on their own due to the popularity of the industry. I was thinking of adding a third word on the end or beginning but was wondering if this would affect the integrity of the url
Examples:
www.(word1)(word2)today.com
www.new(word1)(word2).com

You must use "today" or "new" in domain name? I wanna to say i think you should keep your domain name short.

 

It would be 3 words in total and if I want to use the main 2 key words then I must add an additional one unfortunately. I still do not believe this to be too long as one of the main words is only 3 letters.

It is not going to make that big of a difference either way. The SEO weight of a domain name is minor relative to content, links and on-page SEO; look around the top sites in any industry and tell me what you see -- keyword domains, or quality sites?

Here's a list of what I call "derivative" domain combinations, using common search modifiers -- obviously [kw] is the keyword you are targeting. I've made successful sites on domains across the board on this list, and all of them add what inexperienced or "by the book" domainers and SEOs would say is too much length to them.

Another thing you can do is to used "stop words" in the domain. These are words like: the, a, in, at, etc and they are generally ignored by google.

note that the domain name must match the keyword tages in your site

 

what matters most is your knowledge and good practice of seo not really the domain

 

3 words in your domain name is generally not a good idea. It looks too spammy (or maybe it's just me?)
Can't you think of anything more brandable? Can't you buy a shorter keywordkeyword.net . org or something domain?

 

I know AdSense ads are sensitive to the domain name, at least, initially. I put ads on my www.FastJobHunt.com and the ads instantly started showing job related ads.
