I have been doing SEO for Yahoo for the past few months and finally got it cracked. We are top 10 for a lot of very very competitive terms. When optimising for Yahoo pay extra attention to the title variations throughout your site/pages. Also start your page with your targeted keyword/keyphrase at the the very top of the page. Yahoo pays close attention to the way you name your titles and in my case has been one of the most important ranking factors. Build a few relavant backlinks and make sure you do onpage optimization with your targeted keywords throughout your site.
That is correct. Make sure that the titles on each page are different but the keywords on them are all related to the theme of the site. Name your pages naturally and do not stuff the titles with keywords. You will be suprised how effective less can be.
Interesting. I just went and did some analysis on my website that has good Yahoo rankings. Here's what I found for my main keyword: Present in 100% of the pages on the site Present in 90.9% of the Body content on the site Present in 45.5% of the Meta descriptions on the site Present in 90.9% of the titles on the site Interesting.
Yeah, don't keyword stuff or do any cross linking between two domains, unless you want to get de-indexed.
Cross linking is BS. I cross link across multiple sites and haven't noticed an issue with de-indexing in Yahoo.
