when it comes to SEO for Yahoo - will having multiple directory Yahoo listings be of benefit?

i already have paid the $299 and have listings in yahoo directory and yahoo uk directory

is it worthwhile to get listings in yahoo singapore, yahoo asia, yahoo australia, etc?

    thanks

For SEO, no. The Yahoo Directories outside of the USA do not pass PR/link power whatsoever. For example, look at: http://dir.yahoo.com/Society_and_Culture/Holidays_and_Observances/New_Year/Quotations/

    and

    http://sg.dir.yahoo.com/Society_and_Culture/Holidays_and_Observances/New_Year/Quotations/

The singapore directory has a PR of... none. The bar is totally grey. For the USA one, it is PR5.

My website is listed within both as a free listing, so I still get clicks from the Singapore directory, but it just doesn't do anything else. So is it worth it overall to buy multiple listings? No. Not unless you are extremely targetted to those countries and you know for a fact that they will get to your site through the directory.

As stated you would have credit for just the one directory listing and any others filtered out.

Another issue to consider is localization is going to stop the site from appearing in markets where the competition does a better job, or makes more sense for the end user to find.

For scoring links Google & Yahoo look at c-class and originating IP address. Multiple links from either are filtered from the scoring.

I would suggest you to pay for listing in other web directories like best of the webs, multiple listing in yahoo wont help you that much.

    goodluck

I think that the benefits of paying 299 USD for inclusion in their directories do not outweigh the big cost. If your site had enough quality content then you will end up ranking well in Yahoo any way.
