SEO for Video

What can be done to promote a video for search engines so that it can be displayed in top 10 results?

Yes I know it is difficult that's why m asking this question?

 

VSEO is the process of doing this
and Im also learning it in conjunction with traditional Search Engine Optimization (SEO) methods, because Google launched a new search engine called Google Universal Search.

 

I read somewhere that if you post a video on a page, you should at least write a short description of the video (100-200 words long) underneath it or above it or somewhere around it so it gives search engines an idea of what it's about. Basically this requires you to upload the video and post it on a blog which should hopefully promote it right?

 

Yeah i agree with Geekhang.... if video is posted on a page then there must be some description regarding what this video is all about and there must be a title of the video as well.

 

Name the video you upload with your keyword, for example diettips.wmv, i was told to do this ages ago, not sure if it still works for SEO, but no harm in trying!
