    You can do on-page optimization properly then start link building, find related blogs and comment there, these would really help.

    For me I think we do not need to do anything to get the video popularized. If your video is awesome then obviously YouTube will make it popular...

    You just complete the on page of your video then work on low OBL blogs, forum, social bookmarking website and share your video on social networks.

    share your video as much as places than people will see your video and you will get traffic and it will also improve the video ranking
