Hi For some very competitive keywords, Google generate in the bottom of the page a section with some related searches. Ex: auto insurance companies, weight loss pills, acne treatment. I am very confused because I could obtain nr1 from 10-15 million results for keywords which are not generating "related searches" on Google but for keywords described above I couldn't get even 1000th place from 2 million, even if I made the same obtimization. I was facused mainly on directory submission, but it has absolutly no efect for these keywords. Also I could obtain some results for this kind of keywords but only after 2 years of optimization. Can someone give any advice? Is there a different way to optimize a site for a very competitive keyword? Thanks
The principles apply as for any site. A well optimised site with good incoming links being the most important. 2 million competing sites is not that much so I wouldnt have thought it would be that difficult to get some rankings for the terms you mentioned. I think you should focus on the quality of your site as you should certainly be able to get within the top 1000 results for those terms in 2 years.
Within 2 years? Come on! Yeah, those are tough keywords, but giving 5-8 months, with carefully planned link building, you can also beat the bigboys. And we have done so many times. If you do have the budget, talk to me and I'll show you.
The number of competing webpages shows no relationship to how competitive a niche is....see what your competitors are doing...check their backlinks, on page content etc....focus on getting quality one way links with keyword dense anchor text....make sure your on page optimization is correct such as body content, title tags, h1 tags....
Probably this is my mistake. I though that getting on first page from 2 million results will always be easier than getting on the first page from 10 million results.
It's also important when you start the website for some reason. I once started this website when there were 800,000 competitors then in 2 months it's gone up to 20,000,000 and it's only moved forward in SERPs all that time to the first page. But I'm sure if I'd start the website when it had 20,000,000 it would get sandboxed a lot and take ages for it to achieve the same ranking that I got because I started the site two months early when there were fewer competitors even if I'd apply the same level of optimization.
Do inclusion of that keyword in h1, title, alt tags. and maintain proper keyword density in the content with that keyword and do submission of anchor tag(off-page optimization).Try to generate more back links for the website with that anchor text. Do competitive analysis and track back links of your competitor and follow these links. good luck!
EWnsure your on page optimization is spot on, and then start on a link building program. Analyse your competitions links and se if youy can get links from same sources, and more. You also need to get quality content onto your pages so people will want to link to them.
The very first website on google for keyword " auto insurance companies" have backlinks of 53,864. So if you want to get No. 1 in google for this keyword, you have to make more backlinks than 53,864. Yes, it is tough but nothing is impossible.
