SEO for Social Networking

    Hi guys,

    I'm setting up a social networking site and I'd like to couple the launch with some good SEO tactics. However, traditional "on-page" factors won't be as present here as the only public facing page will be the login page.

    Are there any specific SEO tricks that you know about that can help me promote a social networking site?

    Apart from general SEO process you need to work out for tagging/bookmarking/ Increase your linkability and try out to create a buzz with some unique feature.

    Thanks Bobchrist,

    I'm wondering whether to go down the route of having a closed alpha and then an open beta with minimal publicity and let the features drive the site. I believe we have some great features that people will love, but I'm just not sure on a release strategy or SEO campaign.
