can you guys help me dissolve some of the mystery in SEO. I am to the stage where i need to improve my page ranking etc. I am freaked out by the guys telling me it will cost 2,000 up front and 500 dollars per month to maintain a site at top ranking. I mean do i have to hire 22 auslanders to bang on every blog, forum pay bucks for keywords and pray or what? www.sevenbros.com has been selling flags for 5 years and on the web for 3, but my pr is 0. but today is the day we try and improve. Don't worry too much with onpage seo, since you are using OSCommerce. You will need someone with programming skill to optimize your oscomm site. I've seen websites that has zero onpage seo (wrong title, no headings, no meta tags, etc) that ranks top 10. Focus on backlinks.
I agree with SolomonZhang , you should get a few good links, maybe you can spend some money on a few high pr links, maybe .edu, it will do good for your renking. If you dont have money to spend, try to exchange links with site with same contant. Godd luck.
OMG: there is so much wrong with your oscommerce store regarding SEO its unbelievable, you have no unique meta tags, your not using any form of url rewriting and i cant find any backlinks to your site. I can help you a lot with you site, if you want some free advice please PM me and ill point you in the right direction. For a small fee i can install some SEO friendly mods for your store and for a small monthly fee i can build up a link campaign with relevant targeted links back to you store which will increase serps and page rank.
