    Hi,

What tools/sites do you guys use to do research for non English speaking countries, ie:

    - ranking tools for instance for google.co.uk (instead of .com)
    - keyword research

    etc.

    Thanks for sharing,

    Giorgio

i think every think will be same.

for checking index pages you use site:yoursite.com in google.fr (for french sites)

to make country specific domain of that country

He's asking about language-specific versions of tools like WordTracker.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any off the top of my head.

I believe the Google Adwords Tool and Trends can be accessed in any of the Google translated sites.

    That's a funny one ;-)

What language are you interested in especially ?
I have a quite a few bookmarks for French SEO tools

If you want to rank a site with a specific language, for instance French:
    - you will need to host it on a french server so it can get a french IP, that's a big deal
    - you will need to get backlinks from sites of the country you are targeting (as someone mentioned already).

Then if you can get a few links from international sites as well that will help you to appear as well when someone is making a search in your language from GG.com (there are usually way less people using the .com instead of the .fr or .it but that's not true for every country)

    cheers
    g.

Some of you didn't quite understand what I wrote, some did. I was not referring to "how to rank" but to "how to do keyword research".

I have been quite active in the English language SEO, but have to concentrate a little on non-English. The reason for my post was that I was trying to find tools, like for instance a rank checker and (free) tools for keyword research like Wordtracker, but specific for "other languages".

Some post were valuable, though others... maybe you can learn from this thread :D But please read what's written before you reply.

Anyway, after doing some research I found that SEObook.com has a new rank checking tool, also working with the non-English Google pages. I can recommend this one to everyone, it is a Firefox extension and has a nice set of features.

    Thanks,
    G
