Hello everyone! I've been reading here since I've signed up a week ago or so, and there is definitely a lot of great information to read... that's for sure. I'm trying to figure out how to market my website the best way possible, with money to take into consideration. I don't have much of it, haha. I created the website myself, and thought I knew how to create meta tags properly - boy was I wrong. Anyway, my website is www.iremotetek.com and I offer services such as online computer support, remotely. My website also offers removing viruses, spyware, malware, rootkits, optimizing computer performance, and things of that nature. Anything computer related really. My front page is really all text... everything's made from CSS. i have alt text on all my images, and not many links at all. Should i create more links with alot more content - I do have a blog.... if that helps at all (linked from the home page as you can see) I'm' not sure if I need to re-structure my website and layout, so any specific advise would be helpful. I've read about longtail keywords, but how would I integrate that into a website such as mine? Thanks so much!
You need to start building backlinks, make sure they are from sites relevant to yours. Also, use as your anchor text the keyword or key phrase you are trying to rank for in search engines. Aim for one-way links, link exchanges have less SEO weight\value. The best way to build links is to provide rich unique content people would want to link to.
Thanks for that valuable information, I was searching google and found this site... would this help in building backlinks? webconfs.com/how-to-build-backlinks-article-16.php & webconfs.com/backlink-builder.php
Oh, the spamming backlink building method, ya I'd stay away from that If you just post on blogs, articles, forums, etc sololy to build backlinks your spamming, period.
So then what would be the best way to build backlinks? I know you said provide rich content people would want to link to, but how can people find you in the first place
Oh, they'll find you You should try starting with web directories with "related" catagories to your website. I like joeant.com myself.
Yeah, if your site is white hat then stay away from black hat seo promotion techniques, unless you really know how to get away with it, else you could find your site removed from search engines indexes. Link spamming used to be easy - just find absolutely anywhere to post your link - but now its almost an art, as there are many factors you have to take into consideration before you put your link on that page.
