SEO For MSN?

    Hey,

I am doing great in Google, infact number one for the term I want, I am 3rd in Yahoo but then when it comes to MSN I just can't find myself at all anywhere, I have never ranked well in MSN for any of my sites and now I want to know why?

It is frustrating because I don't understand how I can rank so badly in MSN when Google and Yahoo I do well.

Any comments are much appreciated on this.

    Thanks!

If you are ranking well with google you have won the battle for now. Google will easily eclipse msn for the traffic that they can send your way.

One of keen things it looks [MSN] is H1 tag. Have main keyword or Phrase in H1

I personally don't even worry about MSN. Google is easy for me and sends way more traffic.

I have come to the conclusion, MSN does not care where your links are, all they want is plentiful links with anchor text.

I have come to this conclusion because all my sites where I was very reckless with link building, that did not do good on google, did very well on MSN.

Don't worry about MSN. Concentrate on moving up in Google on higher volume terms and you'll be much more profitable than ranking in MSN.

I agree. Don't even worry about MSN. They simply do not have enough market share to justify tweaking your site and compromising your good rankings in Google. Focus on Google and Yahoo.

I know this is frustrating. MSN is more focused about on-page optimization. Place Keywords in H1 tag. And wait.

as for me, my site are all number one in yahoo and google but when it comes to msn my sites are not listed to the top 200 and i am having a hard time configuring the logic of their spider and i am worrying to much if i give focus too much in msn i might loose my rankings in google and yahoo. thats why i try not to worry about it to much. thats what you should do stop worrying to much and focus on other search engine that give a lot of traffic to your site after all you just cant win them all

Its the oppisite for me great on msn and not so good on the other 2 ..
    My msn tips..
Put a meta description (msn likes descriptons)..
use one to three... h1 or h2 tags top middle bottom
use the all the same words in your description high up on the page text..
and a few in the middle but not to much 1 or 2 sentances containing your description words and key words.
and put some of the same words almost at the very bottom
but spread them out like this.

    Top
    Middle
    Bottom :)

Then get a few decent back links from pages msn likes.. and use your key words in your inbound links anchor txt.

And after a little while if done right and not over done then youll be on top :)

Not bragging but Every site i make hits the top in msn..
But i cant do crap on google or yahoo. the smalest of the 3 love me but the big 2 ignore me.

its ok at least im loved & its suffecent:)

p.s. dont over do your outbound links esp at 1st.. its ok to add a few more after you get your position on msn and make sure they only go to relevent sites. (inbound links need to be relevent to) to many unrelated inbounds/outbounds can hurt you in msn i think..

note this is what works for me, im far from an seo expert if it doesnt seem to help at all on yahoo or google but on msn this techneque puts me on top every time from several years with all types of sites.

I think once you've gained good ranking in Google and Yahoo other SEs comes right after...just wait and see...

msn has better conversion rate than google and yahoo, if you have an e-commerce site…

I did a blog entry on this a bit back(Covered Google, Yahoo/AV, Ask, and MSN)
Unfortunately, right now, MSN is changing their algo so fast it's hard to monitor or judge. Age is definitely a large factor though. If you want to read more, this is my entry on Search Engine Algorithms

I just can say that MSN is strange. It sometimes like your site and sometimes doesn't and nobody can come up with a reason.

Yeap I can say MSN algo keep changing more so than Google, it is a bit tiring doing SEO on MSN waiting for it to be more stablized in algo before I do anything. Hopefully by then MSN would be a major player
