I have a good converting site that I consistantly rank between 1-4 for my key phrase on Google. This bring in about 10-15 people per day, equaling 2-3 clicks per day at 35-75 cents per click, around 1 affiliate conversion per month at $6 each, and an Amazon book sale every other month. Not bad for a site that requires 0 maintenance. However, I am only ranking on the second or third or fourth pages on Yahoo and MSN. Overture says 6000 searches per day for that phrase but WordTracker return no data. If there really are 6000 searches per day on the overture network and I can rank in the 1-4 on Yahoo and MSN, I should be able to pull in a lot more visitor and a lot more revenue. Any thoughts on their algos vs. the Big G
I'm going to spare you the "you need to get more backlinks cuz it's good for SEO" and "you need to abuse the HTML for better rankings cuz it's good for SEO" nonsense and just ask you for the link to this particular site. Something tells me that your content either isn't optimized, there isn't much content, or people aren't looking for the keywords you're targeting for your site's particular topic.
Dan.. i completely agree with you and thats cuz you are right.. And one more thing, I think you might wanna try and change your Anchor text in order to increase the amount of visitors.
My case is just the opposite. My sites rank well in Live and They are okay in Yahoo. But In Google they are in 200th position. You are right the algo is bit differeant. But it cant be very differant. I think your content need more optimization. Yahoo really look for content.........
Are you keeping the keywords or just abandoned it ?....try the keyword magic again....it works on some engines....
