SEO for Free PHP Hosting - free-phphosts.com

Hi, I'm trying to achieve somewhere around #1~10 at least on Yahoo (as MSN sucks and Google seems to hate me) for the keyword 'free php hosting'. I'm around #30 right now.

The only basic thing I can do is get some quality backlinks or are there other ways/suggestions?

Is this a too competitive keyword (only searched 96 times per day)?

Thank you, any help is welcome!

Oops, my website is on my signature, by the way. :)

Backlinks are key but the question is how do you get them. Write unique content and write it often.

So, even though I'm a host directory, I should write articles? Why those articles are so recommended?

Maybe that explains why 0php.com has such good rank? Though they only have 1 article, "php easter egg"...

Submit lots of articles and include your link in the footer. This will help you build relevant links.

Submit the site to directories as well. It sounds like you are well on the way though :)

I don't get it, I should submit the articles to a lot of directories, but wouldn't SE's consider that as duplicated content?

Should I also have those articles on my website?

Can someone please give me a link to a thread that has a lot of places that accept for free articles URLs with PRs (I'm sure I've seen it)?

    Thanks guys!

The duplicate content filter may stop the article sites from all ranking highly when you seach for the subject of your article but it won't devalue the backlinks you get from each article site in any way.

Search google for "article directory" and submit to the top few - that way you know you are getting the best for seo.;)

Argh, now at Yahoo I'm not even placed in the list for Free PHP Hosting! What happened? :'(
    I didn't do anything at all. :(

About articles, should I actually spend time writing good content o what matters are the links?
After how much time should I submit another article, what's the preferenciable time?
Does it make a difference if I write things that haven't been told before?

Is it bad linking my website twice on the same article?

    Here's my first Article: http://www.goarticles.com/cgi-bin/showa.cgi?C=157928
