There is mainly no difference in specially optimizing for one search engine. But there are 2-3 things which differs. But if things are done as per yahoo google rankings will affect a lot. But the things if done as per google then yahoo rankings will come up but will take some more time then usual.
Since the search engines have different algorithm, there will be certain differences occur in both search engines. . But most of the people give importance for Google ranking since it is one of the most top and its a bigger share of market. People mostly use Yahoo site explorer for finding exact back links. In Bing, One of the feature i like most is "the background creatures made in home page" which vary region to region too. Also it carries some information about the creativity done. Its very interesting. The results you get when you search with Bing are relevant, yet they are very different from Google's. Actually, no matter if you search with Google or with Bing you get relevant results and the two sets are very different from one another.
Yes there is lot of difference between yahoo bot and google bot. Yahoo bot giving more importance to On-Page factors like keyword density, title etc. but Google bot gives most important to Backlinks.

Yes there are many differences between Google and Yahoo. Google Give important to back link where Yahoo on Title tag, Meta tat etc and Yahoo count all the back link means crawl but Google does not crawl the entire back link soon if it's not quality
Content is more important in Google than Yahoo, but you can easily get indexed in yahoo in any page if you know how to do the SEO especially if your domain is exact match.
