If you are looking for More SEF URLS I would suggest Drupal.. My main site is Joomla & the SEF Mod simply shortens the URL's, it dosen't make them SEF text friendly, still a bunch of ='s, ?'s, 26345193874108476 #'s... The only way around it (No mater how long your URL's are) is to make sure every page is no more than 2 clicks from your Root page, Adding a footer nav is very helpful for it as well. I have over 3,000+ pages. All the pages I wanted indexed ARE, simply because I use the 2 clicks front the root page theory. Interesting enough my super long URL's 28457-09571039576=09867=2810-485=09=8067509183679857297 are still siting in #1 SERP's Positions for my targeted key phrases. I suppose it all depends on how much work you are looking to put into your site. If you are focusing on more TEXT based SEF URL's then go with Drupal, If you don't mind adding a footer Nav & doing more On page Optimization (Which you should do anyways), then go with Joomla... Seeing my Long, Unfriendly, Non SEF Text URL's in #1 SERP's Positions does tend to get me chuckling at all the self proclaimed Guru's that say my type of URL won't go anywhere & won't show in the SERP's for any good positions. The URL may have a little weight in an overall Algorithm, however it's one of the lesser weights counted - As my Positions confirm - This is just my Opinion based on personal experiences - we all have them - However I tend to research myself prior to giving advise rather than tell you something I read somewhere else. I wish you & your business the best of success!
Joomla is a trainwreck. 1.5 has been in beta for what a year now lol... It wouldn't take a competent programmer a year to develop something of that ilk by himself. Just my opinion. Nigel
