You ads arent laid out bad. You just need traffic to them thats all.
Also maybe try sticking a 468x60 ad under each post.

You can buy text links for your blogs. This can increase SERP and bring in traffic at the same time :)

He means literally buying links from other sites, when you do this they put your link on there site for a given amount of time. There are several text link brokers online who offer this. Think of it as an ebay for links.

    Hi,

I took a look at your blog. It is well laid out and easy to read. I am no subject matter expert, so I can't comment on the content. I presume you believe that you are adding some unique point of view that will attract repeat visitors. If you aren't, then that is where you have to start.

In terms of building traffic, I wouldn't spend any money trying to increase traffic, until you are convinced that you have a natural, organic way of building traffic. Otherwise, it will be money down the drain. My advice is to visit forums and share your views and site with people of similar interest. They should click through. If they don't come back, then you will have to re-look your content and subject matter. It may not be unique enough or interesting enough to compete with the big boys. In which case you have to develop a different perspective.

Developing a blog is VERY difficult. It is practically a full-time job and I think in most cases, people can make more money/hour working at McDonalds. :) Good luck with your endeavor.

    Hope this helps,
    Rich

I'm open to the possibility that purchased links can help SERPs, but so far I have not seen any evidence that it is worth the cost. From what I have oberved, Google and other search engines are evolving in such a way that they are rapidly devaluing these types of links though I am not sure whether they are becoming an absolute negative. I do know that there is a whole industry wrapped around perpetuating the idea that you can "buy yourself" into top search pages, as there is a whole industry wrapped around the notion that you can make money by blogging. I am agnostic at this point, but I have seen little evidence of this.

I think it is possible to move up in SERPs, but I think it costs much more money than it may be worth - especially on an ongoing basis. There are owners of sites that have very deep investment pockets with valuable goods and services that they want to sell, all fighting for positioning in the top two search pages (the only ones that really count).

My advice is to save your money until you have verified the value of any investment that you have made. I have followed up on lots of advice that I have read on the web, and most of it has led me to a dead-end. Which I am not surprised at, since I don't think that people are really going to reveal and meaningful strategy on the web for free. Most of the interesting stuff I have discovered has been through my own trial and error process. I am fortunate that I own a domain name that allows me to experiment and get quick feedback.
