I'm an avid google user and I advertise alot in google; I don't know anything about bing so my question is; do we use the same principle of SEO that we use in Google for bing? or does bing have different rules?
This is something I've started to look into as a side project, so far here are a couple of factors IMO that Bing places higher importance on: - KWs in Url - Title tag - Content <-- which I think is or will be the key All three are pretty obvious but again I think content is the key, this really starts right from MSN's reference that Bing is a decision engine and will give you better or at least clearer search results so there's something in their spidering that really picks up on content. LSI, natural speak or whatever is something MSN and Google have been working on and getting better at so that might be something you want to look into.
Bing seems a lot like Google. At first I thought Bing places less importance on age of site, since a lot of my new sites seem to do better in Bing than Google. However, I think Bing recently changed their algorithm in that department since a lot of the new sites fell out of Bing.
There are some big differences in Bing/Google SEO. This is especially important because Yahoo is now beginning to use some of Bing's technology. I'm not going to give it all away, but one of the big differences is how Bing weights on-page, and the way Bing views at backlinks. The backlink building you do for Google probably won't help much on Bing. I am selling an eBook about this now. Look in my signature for the link.
I think the seo techniques for all search engine are same. But the important is you must add ur url into search engine then submit ur site sitemap into SE.Imo.
You can find more info on optimization for Bing by going to the Bing Webmaster Toolbox. I can't post a link yet, so I'll just describe how to get there. Go to Bing, type in "Bing Toolbox", click on the first link, and click on the "Webmasters" tab. You'll find the resources you're looking for under where it says, "Enhance Your Site For SEO", and "Related Resources". Hope this helps! Aaron Bing Outreach Team
I AM USING the same optimazion for BING and Google.. but the page indexed by Bing are fewer than google indexed
I read on another site that Bing values links less, but if you have relevant anchored text in your links (which you should already, whether you're doing SEO for Bing or Google) they'll value them, I also read that On-Page SEO matters more, The age of your site is valued more than in Google, and content matters a lot. But that's just what I read on another form.
I've posted something quite useful here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=12161398&postcount=18 Just think SEO all the time. Think: what can I do to go higher? what can I change? what can I improve? Try getting maximum results. Just keep going. Research and put it into action. It works, all the time.
I dont seem to rank at all for keywords on Bing that I rank high on in Google. Is it even worth optimizing for Bing?
Honestly I'm not focus in Bing but rather in Google and Yahoo.. but I got more rankings in Bing than the two.. *that was funny *
SEO is what you do for your website, and result same in each search engine. Unless you are doing blackhat, otherwise don't worry.
Thank you so much for the info on Bing, although i rank preety well in Bing for some long tail keywords, but i don't know what have i done special beside regular SEO techniques and backlink building.
