Hey guys, I came across this recently. Not sure if it is legit or not, it might be a publisher just trying to get a keyword ranking... but found some of the things here helpful none-the-less. Hope it helps. http://bingdevelop.com/bing-review/bing-search-engine-optimization-seo-tips/
Bing delivers third largest traffic from search engine group to my blog. I think they have already beaten msn, aol, altavista, etc but not yahoo and google yet. Certainly, they are getting more popular these days.
I can't say much about Bing..I listen lots of thoughts about bings but frankly i am speaking i didn't get the traffic from Bing my traffic comes from Yahoo and Google....
You can get SEO report , chek my signature. You can see example of my reports in the thread (you can choose wich search engine you want to work on , I can do them all , even bing.com)
I've had the same experience with Bing. I can't seem to get high rankings on Bing like I can with Google and Yahoo.
What is good about Bing is if you ask in their webmaster forums what better to do with your site they will look at it and give you some suggestions. In that article this part is not quite true: Bing SEO Tip 6: Linking to other web pages In contrast to Google, Bing does not penalize your page rankings if you create a link to a page outside of your website. However, since Google does penalize your rankings, it would be best to limit the amount of external links for the optimal result. Google will actually give you credit for linking to off site pages if they are relevant and trusted. It may take a little PR juice but it also builds trust with your site. This was discussed by Matt Cutts when talking about page rank sculpting.
It's interesting how Bing organizes large volume results into the "Explorer Pane", basically categories of the search. The links within a Pane are " Quick Tabs". Since Bing constantly tweaks which categories show up in a search, important to not focus on ranking for these "Quick Tabs" because they are going to change, mybe as frequently as daily. Focus instead on the areas you have most control:brand, website, relevant keywords. Also, more than Google or Yahoo, necessary to have a compelling and accurate meta description. Hope this helps. d
