    How do you optimize an image to appear in google images and yahoo images?

    is it the backlinks that play the key role here?

    make all these contain your keywords:

    1. image filename
    2. title tag
    3. text surrounding the image
    4. not sure if google still allows it but they used to allow you to edit your image descriptions in google images itself.

    make sure to install a js to force the users into your page when they view the full size image to get maximum benefit.

    I think he meant make it so that when they click "full size" it still shows on you page with your ads.
    I think that might be a little shady though :eek:

    use alt text for your image. js doesn't help in terms of optimizing....and too much of it can affect SERP ranking... ;)

    i think there are 2 main criterias for image seo.

    * file name
    * title and alt tags
    * and for the google , you must allow image search on G webmaster tools

    Title and alt tags, image should be related to the service provided by site and clickable with more details.

    I am not sure about Google, but yahoo recognized my alt tags and I received a boost. I am thinking that the alt tag should not be stuffed with keywords and then they should relate to the topic the image is illustrating.
