I absolutely agreed with monosodium, you need to adapt your site to suits the people in that country, else no point having a beautful website without visitors.
Well also you want to think very carefully about how you're going to deploy this. Get a solid CMS ( content management system ) in place or you will have a content management nightmare on your hands. The people that actually took the time to read your post and given a good answer have been correct ( opposed to about 50% of people posting general statements in this thread having nothing to do with what you asked just so they can drop their signature links... It's pathetic and I'm not sure how much longer I'll stick around here). I've already deployed a multinational multilingual platform... Get it good solid plan down on how you're going to grow this thing or else you'll find yourself in a logistics nightmare. I decided to go with subfolders dedicated to each language. Currently I cover English German French and Spanish. It may also be a good idea for you to segregate people so that they do not get frustrated with the language barrier. you may also be dealing with regions and locations if you have plans on expanding in those areas ( areas that will relate to geographical location ). even though I'm quite experienced as an architect... I will admit that the logistics of deploying a multinational multilingual platform was quite a challenge at first but it became very simplistic and clear after about two weeks because I was also dealing with a custom content management system to deploy it as well. You might want to consider different domains for each of your sectors. But only if your content management system can handle multiple domains. My content management system was custom-made to handle domains but most out-of-the-box software's won't do it properly if at all. Sometimes they will do cheesy workarounds and you find yourself boxed into a corner when you try to grow. It's just really important for you to have an extensive view of the future so that you don't run into a brick wall when you try to expand in the future.
Promote this website using various link building methods like Press release Submission, Article Submission, Blog Comments, Directory Submission, Forum Signature.
Either way, it will not be seen as duplicate content, but it is nice to see the URLs in different languages. Google likes it, and readers too!
target the search country's google domain and search backlinks in that search engine like .de and .uk if they are for respective countries.. also you should target the seo activity for countrywise like uk forums and directories and social bookmarking sites... and so on... this way you could do the seo for website for multiple countries..
I would start with ranking well in your default country, and use Google Webmaster Tools to pin point the subdomains/domains for the other countries
firstly, you should be setup multi choice language in your site. and focus on content invest for SEO. best regard.
I would definitely get an analytics account and see which countries are accessing your site, then target content based on that. You can write articles with stuff from each country. I did that for one of my sites and I saw clickthough rates skyrocket. Also, country specific phrases are easy to rank for.
The keyword research in very much important. Set your keywords as per the Global Search from all country. I hope you have done the OnPage optimization properly. Go for the OffPage SEO. Try to gain some quality backlinks from Directory Submission, Article Submission, Blog Submission, Social Bookmarking & Forum Posting.
