I am working on a new site, www.clicknplaygames.com. I am not at all famaliar with seo but I understand what it is. I know people find your site in search engines based on keywords they search that are on your site but how can you seo a site with no text. I made my whole site with photoshop and dreamweaver so all the text on it is actually just images. My site shows up on google if you type in clicknplaygames but its just the url. How can I make my site show up on more searches and with more text than just the site name?

put some text in the footer and make it white in color. That way no one can see the text, but search engines will.

just make sure to match something similar with it in the title tags and include an <h3> somewhere.

If you want to rank well for anything, you're going to have to rebuild your Web site from the ground up. You can keep the design, but the code isn't going to help you at all. If you can't do this yourself, then consider hiring a Web developer with search engine experience (hint, you probably won't find one here at Digital Point).

That's the worst advice you can give to him :)

@OP: I would advice that you consider SEO and text in your design. It's a lot more difficult to rank just using off-page optimization.

They're attributes, not tags. (Just figured you'd want to know.)

Content is the king for any site to get the traffic. Whithout text dont thing you can bring traffic. The key word can add in many ways like menu, page title, image alt,if any images are using with text do the following. Just make the image only and place it a s back ground of the cell then type the text on the cell . So the text will come ove the image. So there is plenty of ways to do it. But m strongly recommended u to add more more content

You really need to add a lot of text content if you want to generate a decent amount of search engine traffic. Without a lot of text you are unlikely to generate much traffic from longtail searches.

If you use the google toolbar to look at a cached version of your page, then select "text only version" you will see what a search engine sees - and this is html text!

No, the only thing you can do is build an HTML version of your website and offer users both. I can't visit your website right now but if I had to guess, I'd say it's about games and that you will be competing with the 10 million other websites that want those same keywords.

Put hidden text on your homepage and the fact that your image-site can't rank will be the least of your worries.

A nice title, and a tag here and there, won't get you past page 3 on a good day. If your site isn't too large, maybe it won't be too difficult, but it's your only option.

If you have a product/service to sell, NOW, you need web traffic to expose you product/service.

I get about 5,000 hits every day from a professional group. I purchase the best quality visitors to hit me 5,000 times EVERY DAY, and yes I get sales.

Not only that, the person that I purchase from is a terminal cancer person, who get a percentage of each sale for himself. I feel good knowing that I can increase or maintain my sale, and help out a terminal cancer person.
    Lots of luck!

Thanks for all the responses guys. I was going to redo the whole site today with all text pages but I checked my adsense account this morning and suddenly Im actually receiving earnings. I think I'll just add text pages to the site. After all with a game site theres already going to be hundreds of pages for different games anyway. I'll just add descriptions of each game. Thanks everybody!

that's considered as 'cloaking' so don't do that... you'll get your site banned by the search engines.

    what i can suggest:
    1. add some text in some suitable areas
    2. use your page title, description, etc for seo purposes

It is not necessary that your must have a lot of text on your pages.

Even if you add a few lines with the keywords that you are targeting, you can rank well.

Try to use your keywords in as many places as you can - page title, link anchor text, urls, image names etc.

    See this site:

    http://www.towerdefence.net/

Right on the front page, the site has:

Note how the words "tower" and "games" have been used often.

    Keywords are used in bold.

Also note that most of the urls start with "games".

Both "Defence" and "defense" have been used so as to capture traffic for both keywords.

Besides onsite SEO, you will also have to do some offsite SEO (link building) to achieve the desired results.
