Hello. Few months ago one client from Russia decided to extend his business to Europe. Also he likes Flash very much and he asked about possibility to create his European site in Flash and promote it in Google (first in UK).
In Google Russia and some local SE promotion of flash to TOP10 in hard topics is almost impossilbe. What is situation in Europe now? I was checking SERP in many topics for few days but there are no flash (only flash).
Could you confirm that it is not good idea?

flash is a poor choice when it comes to SEO. if you are considering SEO, then you should not be using flash in the first place.

however, if you must use flash, it is good to know that Google has been reading flash files for quite some time now. so you are not completely deserted with flash SEO. however, you have so much more options and flexibility to work with text based site.

flash SEO when Google is considered is same regardless of geography.

Ok. It's a nice point of view. But what's about other SE? Yahoo for ex. Or some other regional SE?

In the eyes of most search engines, it's not ideal to optimise a fully flash site-the options you have with a html site are far better-you could create lots of alternative content in place of your flash using swfobject-but how far you go before Google and other SE's see that as hidden content is your choice.

If you are going flash crazy-id get some unique descriptive content in place for alternative content (without taking the piss with keyword densities, h1,h2 etc.) and go silly with an strong off-page optimisation campaign.

    best o' luck!
