I've searched the forums using the search function, no results, so i have to ask,

does a favicon add to your PR? I mean all these PR checker sites seem hell bent on picking out that i lack a favicon on my sites... would it benefit me in any way to have one? other than an aesthetic reasons

PR only relates to your backlinks and their PR. favicon has nothing to do with PR. A favicon will not help your search engine rankings either. Where it does help is that it makes your website more memorable and more professional. If someone bookmarks your website, your favicon will draw extra attention to that bookmark.

Do not confuse PR with search engine rankings. They are two completely different things. Getting a higher PR does not guarantee better search engine rankings. Really you do not even need to worry about your website's PR score.

I've seen nothing to suggest there is any significance to using or not using a favicon in terms or ranking. I use them however because they do make your site standout, which from my perspective is a good thing.

favicon has nothing to do with the SEO process or the results related to it. we have developed a habit of relating everything on a website to the SEO which leads to unnecessary fear or experiment

Favicon doesn't affect your site PR. Link is the only factor that is use in calculating PR.

favicon was just an added "design" for your url when it is on the "web browser", grab some quality backlink to increase your PR
