    I have seen my friend's new site showing PR1 where he didn't made links but my site is still PR0 where i am building lots of one way link. I cannot explain that.

    It must have been from the outbound links, and/or people liked your portfolio and have gave you one-way links as well.
    Make sure that once you find out the reason behind this, rinse and repeat the method or else there's no point in knowing.
