SEO experts do you know whats going on here?

    I have a website and it normally ranks #1 on Google.

    Occasionally my site will disappear from Google before returning a few days later, sometimes longer. I know this is perfectly normal and the rankings for each of my phrases always returns to where they were before.

    But this last time my rankings have disappeared they have gone from every Google except Google Netherlands.

    There I still rank #1 for my keyword.

    My question I have is why is my site only ranking on Google Netherlands and no other Google. Ive checked and Im on no other Google (not Google Australia, not Google US, not Google Canada, not Google India, not Google Portugal, not Google France not Google UK, not Google Japan, not Google Philippines, not Google South Africa, etc..and my stats of course only show referrals from Google.nl

    Or to put it another way, why hasnt my site disappeared from Google Netherlands when it disappeared from all the rest of the Googles?

    My site has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the Netherlands by the way so whats going on?

    :confused::confused::confused:

    Did you change your host to Netherlands or changed your geo-targeting settings in webmaster tools? These might contribute to the present behavior of google search.

    I read once that Google has a major relay station in Holland. With the new Geo-targeting they are doing with searches, perhaps your site is still being re-indexed and yet to be fed to the local Google servers? Another reason might be that Google isn't aware where your site is aimed at.

    Hi, seems all of you are correct. Google has launched the improved local listings and it takes into consideration the country specific data for every link. It is assumed that if mostly Holland websites link to you, then you should be more relevant for Holland search results and not for other international ones.

    That being said, you must carefully target your link partners (if you do have any control over that) otherwise you will just be the victim of your own visitors.

    In general this is a really good improvement especially for local businesses since this new algo gives them advantage in their own areas compared to international sites/companies.

    Hope this explains.

    Venetsian.

    Change in Google's algorithm could have caused it to disappear from most Google search engines. I think the reason it's ranking in Netherlands might be because you might be getting a few links from sites who are hosted in Netherlands hence indicating that your site is related to Netherlands.

    that is a normal scene when google changing its algorithm and it only means one thing, your website is not yet stable with your main keyword.

    I hate to say it, but it does sound like a penalty of some sort - you are only ranking for the URL query "registrycleanerreviews.net". It's not uncommon for a penalty to only affect certain Google country sites and not others - similar to what Dave Naylor (DaveN) calls the "upstream penalty".

    I could be wrong of course - but is there anything you can think of in terms of paid links, cloaking, hidden text, etc that might possibly lead to a penalty (proably through a competitor reporting you?) Something you need to consider and rule out, in any case.
