SEO effect from redirected subdomains?

    Hi,

I have a domain that used to have quite a few subdomains. The domain itself is a PR 0, while some of the subdomains had PR 2-3.

How can I transfer the SEO benefit of the subdomains to the main domain - and is it's possible at all?

Should I just recreate all the subdomains and make a 301 redirect in each subdomains' htaccess file?

Will that give me the whole benefit or will some of it get lost during the redirect?

    Thanks, Mads

It'll will work and you will get lots of benefit from it but start with one and slowly get all of them redirected to your target site. If you redirect all of them at the same time you could have alternate effects.

Sear engine treats sub domain as a separate URL. You can just place link of main domain into subdomain sites.
