Hi all, I'm wondering what your opinions and thoughts are on the below scenario..hopefully from experience though. I'm looking to build a site on a certain niche. I would like to include 2-3 keywords in the domain name because the niche is very very competitive. I also want a domain name with age which can hopefully help me out a bit after my SEO. The current issue i'm running in to is finding domain names available with good keywords. I found a few but they want a ton of $$$ for them and they're only 1-1.5 yrs old with additional non relevant keywords int he domain like "my" and "the". I found a couple of pretty good .net .org domains with my keywords available for registration. So here is my ultimate question. Should I possible an aged domain of 3-4+ years with 1 very generic keyword in the domain and build this site or should I buy a fresh domain with 2 of my keywords and build the site. I'm thinking about grabbing the aged domain but i'm wondering what your thoughts many be on my scenario. I cannot find aged domains with 2 or more keywords in the name...they're either not for sale or they want too much money for them. Thanks
I think your money is better off spent in marketing a new domain that better reflects your content/services rather than purchasing an old domain just for the domain age. Register your domain name for a couple of years and focus on promoting your new domain. You can still enjoy good rankings for specific keywords for a new domain as long as you provide valuable content.
