SEO, Disavow Google etc... Google almost ruined my business and my life!

OK so lets say I am competing for top 10 positions in Google and someone takes xrumer or even invests money and places sape links to my site just to have google do manual ban and remove site from index. What do I have left, what am I supposed to do in this case??? First of all it happens to everyone in real top 10 organic positions money games. Competition for popular top 10 in organic search is a b***ch, depending on the keyword, each position may bring you extra zero income and when we are talking about 7 digits income, everyone you compete with will do anything to bring you down. Your competitors have huge budget, it takes few dollars and server to run xrumer and place 100s of thousands bad links to your site or you can get banned domain and 301 it to your competitor, Google will act on it and bring entire site down. Also you can do ddos so competitor server slows down, just run their shopping cart and account pages which talk to the database and Google will think that site speed is slow. You can ddos from different IPs, kind of dynamic way of doing it. It takes 20 minutes to write a program that will load million of proxies and use timer to hit the web site with thousands of threads at the same time from different IPs. Modern firewalls are designed to detect patterns, well this one is without patterns, you can set random timers so it looks like legit visitors... That's just an example....

So someone spammed your site with xrumer or any other similar "wonderful" bots and now you have 100s of thousands bad links, according to Matt Kutz, you now supposed to go after each "webmaster" and ask for them to remove links - that's laughable.... how many years it will take you to gather contact details? What the heck Matt Kutz or Klutz is talking about??? What agency??? What webmasters??? Has he been in some kind of lala land and not getting the reality of real life or simply, everything he says is a lie? There billions of crap sites where it is possible to place crap links. There so many loopholes in Google where you can just destroy someone's site overnight...

One of my multi million dollar site went under manual review and from 2000 targeted visitors per day I went down to zero. I did everything possible to follow what Matt Kutz says about "perfect world", begging for forgiveness... I sent 10 or more requests to Google quality team and I only heard NO. I fired all the employees, defaulted on warehouse lease, moved my operations back to basement. Finally I gathered all the links and did disavow. Sent Google quality team another request explaining that no matter what I do, I always hit a "brick wall" with them and I had enough, I told them that I am sending disavow request for every single link and asked them to remove manual ban. Well, got the same stupid answer - NO, you did not do enough....

So many times there have been issues where I purchased expired domain and when I add it to webmaster tools, I see that domain is under ban. IT WAS NOT EVEN MY DOMAIN!!!! SENDING request to Google quality team resulted ant same answer - NO... IT IS NOT MY DOMAIN, I JUST BOUGHT IT - NO...

Another point I want to make is term SEO is already black hat. There no such thing as SEO. SEO is for people to purposely do something and at the end money will be paid for links. What real world scenarios Matt Kutz is talking about is just garbage. In reality you supposed to have a website where some how you get traffic and everyone loves it and gives you link back or social share whatever.... It is possible for big store or public person. What about someone new starting new web site???? What are the chances of doing white hat??? ZERO!!!

Social is crap. There networks where you can give likes, shares, watch youtube videos and earn "coins" that you can exchange for them to tweet, re-tweet, share, watch your videos, give you likes etc... That's something Google will not be able to control... Entire social is crap.... I don't know why it plays such a huge role in SERPs.... I can get bot program or write it myself where I can "earn" these coins without even participating and exchange it for all these stupid likes and shares....

OK now, how much money it will cost to get even one link from authority site??? In reality if someone gives you that link, they pass a lot of money to you (depending on popularity). I must be insane to even think of selling my link to someone when I can make thousands or hundreds of thousands if I keep it to myself. So what the .....

That's how I see it. With each new update, Google wipes out % of US based businesses, businesses that pay taxes and support US economy. Google is like bulletproof shield. They have answer to everything - "oh this and that, they are spammers".....

We are talking about fare game that's not happening in Google. It needs to come to an end. Google needs to put more emphasis on on page optimization and value sites that provide better explanation of the product or service as well as loyalty to the customer. Google "links" world is garbage.... Social media is even worth...

Google prioritize pay per click customers. It's getting ridiculously expensive and unreasonable... Google tries to show their "good" image that everyone is having fair chance, but in reality the way they treat links, they illuminate small - medium companies from the face of the earth (that's what happen to me).

We are talking about contradictions here, one after another. Someone needs to explain Matt Kutz about the real world.... I hope someone from Google quality team reads it.... I don't understand what kind of stupid people implement these rules......

I HATE GOOGLE NOW !!! SEARCH BECOMES GARBAGE DAY AFTER DAY!!!

GOOGLE WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER WIN THE WAR AGAINST SPAM. NO MATTER WHAT GOOGLE DOES, THERE ALWAYS SOMEONE TO BREAK IT. RUSSIANS DOING VERY GOOD JOB IN SPAMMING GOOGLE...

GOOGLE SHOULD REALLY PAY MORE ATTENTION AT THE LEVEL OF EFFORT DEDICATED TO ON PAGE OPTIMIZATION AND DO BETTER JOB DETERMINING WHICH SITE WILL BE MORE VALUABLE TO THE READER, CONSUMER, INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON STUPID LINKS....

To finish all this, either I don't understand something or Google is just bunch of lies.... Please help me understand....

If this happened to you, I have to say sorry but is the crude truth of what and how the SEO is working nowadays.
The fact that Google didn't positively answer to your Disavow and reclamation regarding the negative backlinks is even worst. But I have to advise you to don't stop the mentioned website. Clean as much as you can the negative backlinks and continue to promote it. The world is not ending with Google (yes they do have a dominant market now) but as we all know - there are up and downs in businesses world.
I made some predictions regarding the Google and their way of treating the searching in the last period and I'm sure that will change something in the next 2-3 years. They'll stop being the dominant and only then they'll start to change their behavior.
Until then, we do have to suffer and to adapt ourselves upon Google movements - and we have to do it so fast as they do it.

Thank you so much for your reply. Well here is what I don't understand. Why Matt Cuts makes these videos and looks like complete retard, smiling at everybody and delivering these dumb messages.. What's the purpose? I am guessing he is trying to make Google look like "angel" that wants everyone to follow "proper" way of living in SEO world. He makes it sound so simple.... To me it looks like some type of recruitment of new "members" who thinks for $200 per month you can outrank everyone for major keywords... In reality its a cut throat deal, especially when it comes to authority links and top 10. Seems like Matt Cuts is not aware of top 10 reality. Maybe he needs to build one of the e-commerce sites himself and get it to rank in top 10 for profitable keywords, maybe he will understand the reality at that point. Every video I watch that comes from Google, I see people that are clueless about what's really happening. They don't get "chicken and egg" concept for some reason if you know what I mean.... Where Google now is I like it, I don't want any more stupid updates. I will also be happy if Google quality team lays off from manual reviews and also back the f** off from their "unnatural" link idea.... Search results are good. Google needs to stop these stupid updates that wipes out more businesses in USA and the rest of the world. It really works against US economy. At the same time, having someone else outperform Google is scary.... Not Facebook..... Zuckerberg for example is far behind... "changing the way people search". He expects to change the world. He only missing on something, while he was sitting in he's CEO position and dreaming about big or small boobs, spammers evolved so far that he is going to be a "train wreck" the minute he implements something in terms of search.... Zuckerberg is not as brilliant as Sergei Brin and Page... He made he's money on small and big boobs voting at Harvard initially... Napster guy is behind facebook big time.... Anyway there will always be a room for spam and spammers will always outrank office rats that are sitting in their cushy 9 to 5 jobs at Google, Facebook etc... and making salaries.... OK I understand now, Google is a public company and that's their way to make it look like they fight spammers. In reality they just hunting for the next victim to make examples. Nice job Google... Why me?????? I learned the lesson. Never depend on one site. Generate 100s or 1000s.... sites. The only value in the site is money and nothing else...

Of course Google is looking for making money for themselves and to stop you to make. All the SEO Techniques represents the "competition" for Google. I really had a strong discussion with Matt Cutts about how Google is treating the SEO, the results was to get a big warning and I just calm down myself. They're the giants and we're the leprechauns and our methods are "stealing" the money from them. I've remember Nov 2012 - when their shares went down with 25% - and I'm proud that I was part of that team to make them suffer like this and I don't hide it. I've said and I state it, Google will loose the their dominant position in 2-3 years, there are so many things that they're doing wrong and they are not OWNING THE INTERNET - that's for sure.
So, @Lloyd Banks I'm sorry for your loss, but you should go further and develop more websites and earn the requested money for your life - Good Luck mate !!!

 

Thanks so much for your reply. We are on the same boat. I am so up for doing everything I can to break Google's nonsense anyway I can. What bothers me the most. Right now there so many lives depending on what Google is today. Google calls these people SPAMMERS. In my mind, most of the people are not spammers. They help Google and end consumer. Most of them operate good content sites. Yes, they use "bad" resources to get link juice from. SO F** what??? In reality they satisfy customer best way they can. Google needs to look at web sites and analyze their on page quality instead of "snitching" on link building techniques.... So, I just looked at one of the most popular captcha breaker services and they have package for 100M captcha guesses at $400K. I cannot believe that there is a demand to spend $400K for that service alone. I just can't imagine US and world economy without Google letting it continue. I think Google is in deep sh** at this point. They want to perfect their search results and at the same time they cannot let go of spammers. I also see that they are "shaving off" small % of web sites from Google search results with each update. It all started with caffeine - good name.... Prepare mother**ers... Now more and more updates coming in. I think at some point it will begin to become really disappointing from the user point of view. I am thinking of Microsoft and Windows Vista. It happen. I am thinking that if Google continue these STUPID UPDATES, same will happen. Major loss for Google was shopping. While Google was focusing on these stupid feedburners (another f** up) etc..., spammers and their "perfect world", It slipped through their cracks... Google lost in shopping to Amazon and Ebay.

That is so freaking stupid!!! Some dumb idiot was in charge of that in Google. I will be VERY surprised if Google did not fire bunch of people because of that. You're seriously P.O.'ed and for good reason. That's a horror story. A competitor blasts you with bad backlinks to knock you down. And Google won't do anything to help you get back up.

Yes, they're little worms and they hide behind their brick wall. But, don't go after them. Pick yourself back up and stand on what you know you can trust... your own two feet.

Let's take stock. You've lost your soldiers (employees). You have no more armory (warehouse). And your enemies ARE laughing at you. Accept it... you've lost the battle.

But not the war.

Learn the lesson and come back stronger.

Here's the lesson: You built your business on sand - SEO traffic. It's sand because it constantly shifts and changes. Re-build your business on solid rock.

Diversify Your Traffic Sources

Google is NOT the only source of traffic. It's one choice among a larger menu.

SEO is like the double cheese burger of traffic.
Everyone buys it because so many others do too.

For starters, add an email list. Switch your business model to more repeat purchases from familiar faces. Rely less on strangers giving you one-time, initial purchases. While this is a hard way to learn this lesson, you'll definitely remember it for good now. Pick yourself back up. Dust yourself off. Rebuild.

This is a life thing... not just an SEO thing.

Clear your head and come back stronger. I find it helps to go for a run or do some sports to burn off aggression. It's a fast way to feel a TON better. Hit the gym and beat the crap out of the punching bag. THEN, come back and look at your problem. You'll probably know exactly what to do.

 

Thanks for your reply. Yes reinforcing is the only option. See when you are well established, family etc.. and some ... at Google tells you you are f**ed, you want to reply with punch in the face at least to ease your pain.... I guess that's why they are hiding behind their desks without any communication to real world, otherwise I would not be alone who wants to do that....

@Lloyd Banks - Google's politics is getting more and more elitarian. It might as well turn into the smallest search engine ever one day as its filters get stronger and stronger and will continue to support only the big sites. Google brings no good to small businesses, alas.

But I'm glad to see you reacting to Google and not killing your business just because of it. Follow John Broberg's advice and your business is going to recover fast. Think of Google as "just another search engine" and you'll see how your perspective magically changes and your efforts to engage with your customers, get their feedback and offer valued services become so much easier.

 

I had this happen to one of my sites in the past. Like you I used the disavow tool and like you they rarely took action on the links. It took me months to get it back and it never fully recovered. I know one of the other top 10 sites did this to me. I look at them and I can see many of the ones still there have massive links from xrumor. Somehow they managed to skirt the manual review process and stay put in the SERPs. These days Google has turned into a guessing game.

 

WOW today I got another POWERTRIP nonsense from Google F** Yotube "QUALITY" team... This one is even more ridiculous.... No warning, nothing simply "f** you, we are closing it down, no appeal possible, f*** you you little piece of sh** we are f** Google and we can do whatever the f** we want...."

THEY REMOVED 100s of my KID'S VIDEOS because one video, related to advertising product - just simple music and bottle of supplements that are legal to sell anywhere in the world over the counter, herbs...., violated their f*** guidlines... WTF is going on?????

One of my kid's video was viral and was shown on every single news channel in the world.....

Proves my point that Google hires MORONS who know nothing about technology and make irrational decisions because they have authority to do so. YOU ARE A JOKE!!! BUNCH OF LOSERS MAKING MINIMUM WAGES..... NEED REALITY CHECK!!!!

oh by the way all you have to do is convert video in to different format, for example from .mp4 to .mov and use different account and you are good to go posting again, their software is not that perfect after all a***oles.... what youtube is trying to do I don't get it?
