    hi
there r many domain types... like the ones on title here.. i just want to know whether this has any effenct on SEO or page ranking or not..

like if i get the same no of backlinks for each of these domain types which one well get more value for search engine??

lately i'm thinking to get the free .co.cc domain. so just making sure that whether its gonna give me any disadvantage or not... :p

in terms of backlinks, all TLDs offer the same value.

As he said, TLD's aren't important SEO wise. Search Engines give equaly imporance to all TLD's. That's why you see .info's first many times ahead of .com's and .net's ;)

AFA getting .co.cc, I am really not sure about that as you will actually getting a subdomain!

Yeah. I agree that TLD are equal to SE in some way. There are some sites that ranks even if they are .info, .co.cc etc. I think that .com, .net, .org are more popular and widely used than .info, .co.cc, etc. that's why they are the ones we see most of the time on the search results.. It is on how well you build the site that matters. And how you push quality backlinks to get good rank on SERPs.

I agree with jg123. No one actually knows it for sure.

My suggestion is getting a paid domain to show that you are serious in whatever business you planning to use the domain for.

.co.cc looks so spammy... for a serious web site you can take a "premium" TLD like .com, .net or .org

But all depends about your content! :)

Matt Cutts himself said EDU and GOV links don't offer any additional value than other TLDs

Just watch out for country domains, you'll be listed higher in that countries Google, but lower on Google.com.
