    OK, maybe I should have been a little more clear...

    Could someone review the actial site design...

    The code and SEO, is OK as far as I am concerned, I would just really like a review of the design...

    It's the first design I've done in a while, and it would be really nice to know what you guys think.

    I don't like the colors, but I like the layout. I haven't tried creating a blogger template before, but I'd imagine it's quite a bit of work.

    Yeah, it did take a while...

    Shame you don't like the colours...

    The're really the only things I can't change now - It would take ages to swap it all around.

    I like it, doesn't turn me away...

    Hard to say what you could improve, there's something with the top area I don't really like, maybe the white .. and it looks like the rest of the page? Perhaps that's a good thing as far as flow goes.

    That's my 2cents, everything is good but I'm "iffy" on the very top.

    OK - I've made a few changes now...

    Got a bit of a pulp fiction thing going on with the new logo...

    I could not get the CSS to validate. The HTML needs some work to validate. In Firefox the whole thing is off center. I think you should either center it or set it on the right or left but it is somewhat floating. For all that text, you are not reaping the rewards of actually copying and pasting it into the body. Pulling it in either via an RSS feed or XML is not showing in the html body. One thing I do like, and hopefully you will share with me after I basically just hammered on your site is the bit of drop shadow around the content. Is that an image? How did you do that?

    Weird - the CSS validates for me... At least I think so... I'll check again...

    I know about the centering thing - Never been able to get a site to center in firefox - I figure I'f doing something wrong...

    RE the HTML Validation - hat is soooooooooooo full of errors, I didn't even know where to start looking. I was actually going to make a post to ask abou that, because if you look at the report, a lot of it seems to be coming directly from the blogger stuff...

    RE: the background drop. Yeah, it's just an image... a few px high, which is told to repeat down the page

     .container {
     background-image: url (whatever.gif);
     background-repeat: repeat-y;
     }
    Code (markup):
    You'll notice the colour bar across the top of the page, which was a bit of a bitch to get to work with the shadow.

    It's pretty straight forward to do...

    The biggest problem was getting it to look the same in ie as in firefox, which is where this came in handy (Cheers stretch if your reading this ;))

     <!--[if gte IE 4]>
     <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://www.seo-dev.co.uk/styles/ie.css" type="text/css" />
     <![endif]-->

    Code (markup):
    That center thing has been driving me crazy though...

    If you have any suggestiond with how to get it to work, I'd really appreciate them.

    I have to get it to validate though...

    I even made some funky new W3C images for it...

    Firefox is only used by a few rebels. Nothing to worry about :D

    Looks good in IE and netscape and that is what counts :D

    Whatever Max. :rolleyes:

    Overall it looks nice, but it is alwasy ideal when a page shows properly in all the major browsers. Especially since Firefox and Mozilla (which is what Netscape is based on) are eating up larger and larger chunks of Internet Explorer's use.

    Yessssssss

    :D

    I did it...

    Valid XHTML... Man that took a while :)

    I always feel so good when it validates.

    Now, just to get it to center...

    Bobby compliant too (only A, but have you seen what you have to do to get AA or AAA... Man)

    I feel good :)

    Nice!

    I know the feeling. My standards to go by to make a page work are Netscape 4 and Internet Explorer 5.2 for Mac as they are incredibly picky. If they can render it correctly, so can any other browser.

    OK... I'll keep playing with it - it's 2:30 I should really get to sleep...

    OK - works :D

    I dread to test it with ie4...

    I'll be in work tomorrow and my machine there has it installed, along with all the old netscape browsers - I might have a look then... Not looking forward to it.
