Hello, I just bought a dedicated server for my site and i put the main site on a dedicated IP because I've heard it will get more traffic from google and such. I was wondering if I should put my other domains (keyword domains that redirect to the main site) on the same ip, or if i should put all other domains on another ip and leave the main site by itself. Thanks!
are these keyword domains strictly for type in traffic? if so, what you can do is put 1 of the others on its own ip, and 301 redirect that to the main site then you park the remaining ones on the one you just put on the 2nd ip so main site A is on its own ip on dedicated server keyword domain B is on ip #2 and 301 redirects to A keyword domain C, D, E are all parked on B
type in? we bought them because they had some keywords for what we offer in them and thought they would help but we havent seen too much change from them we are using a dns redirect should we be using a 301 redirect?
You only want to market one domain. If you have multiple domains that point to the same site and you are marketing all of them, then you will have 1)duplicate content as far as search engines are concerned and 2)be splitting the link power between them all. I would recommend to do as I suggested. If you have any links built up to domains B, C, D, etc. then the 301 to the main site will send the benefit.
all the other domains really dont have any links, they just redirect to the main site they're just good keyword domains that werent taken
