Even if you don't have the keyword now, when it's revealed, you can just do a .htaccess 301 redirect to the new page which takes the PR with it!!! er...crud...giving da competition tips!! Bah!!!!

It might not help this one too much, but it'll have a big head start for future contests. By then it'll have back-links from other sites along with PR. It'll be an information site about any current SEO contest and the past contests.

But SEO might have changed a lot in a year or more for next big contest ...

 

Though it'll always be called SEO. I think it'll be a long time before back-links stop helping ranks, and PR will probably always help atleast a little!

I'll also be making a few sites just for this contest, but they'll just be little blogs.

You don't have to be skilled! I've hardly even done SEO and I'm entering it. It doesn't take much to get to the top. Case in point...

Whats 'The Unofficial World of Nintendo!!' doing in 4th place out of 30,200,000??!! I never even tried to get there!!

All I did was add content and back-links and I got there!!

Rule #1 in registering a domain name.: Get the domain right when you think of the name!!! I've seen posts of people wanting a domain name, it's not taken, then the next day it is...by some one else!!!

 

I can envision google doing another jagger style update just days before the contest ends, and some totally unrelated site that isnt even in the contest wins.

 

Like a post from a message board like DP or WMW!!!
