SEO Contest

Hey guys...

I was just wondering if anyone knew about any SEO competitions that are currently running.

I am keen to give it a go (Although it is unlikely I would win)...

If anyone knows about any competitions that are currently running, it would be great to hear about them.

Yes - there is a competition to see who can contribute the most to boosting the ranking of this site: www.homless.org.au to the top of the serps for the search term 'homeless.'

The prize is increased exposure and hopefully increase donations for the programs this site champions.

 

There's also a competition to boost my rankings for halloween decorations and christmas lights - if you add a back link, you can not only view 'em via the web, but you can also control 'em - i.e. turn my lights (was 22,000 in 2002) on & off and annoy the neighbors! ;-)

 

You know, I bet if you set up a serious site to publicise your 'contests' that enough people would take it seriously that it would be worth it.

These contests are kinda pointless, aren't they?

Wouldn't the guy with the network of PR9 sites who spamlinks to the dummy page just win?

SE, I think you've got a warped sense of humor if you enjoy spending countless hours optimizing a site for the chance of winning ???? something (unless it's a million dollars)

 

Well, I like a challenge...

I almost did quite well in the last comp...

Shame I messed it all up really...

 

Ok, we should just arrange a DP based competition or.. we could try and push Shawns blog (http://www.digitalpoint.com/~shawn/) to the top like his "title' for "master of the universe" - shouldnt be too easy, 4 mil..results none of those keywords in his text.
Would be quite funny to see..What do you think ?

 

There are many competition going on... just check the forum and you will find them!

So how do they tell who wins? You cant really measure individual contributions can you?

Google, MSN, Yahoo, ... will tell.

All the SEO contests I know work the same. You set your own page and you must push it for the competitive keywords. Mine is no exception.

 

For seo contest listings you can try seocontests.info. Its pretty much up to date and covers alot of seo contests.
