We are wondering how can it be a contest. This work takes time and deep analyze of site. We all are working for him but how he will know that who really did work on his site.

We are really not gettin at all.

Blackhat SEO? I am familiar with the phrase but not sure how it applies here.

Sorry - I thought you were running a SEO contest. If you are not, then it might not be applicable. If you ARE, I don't see how you can ignore the possibility that people will use blackhat techniques.

The one big advantage to an SEO contest over traditional contest is that as you can see, people are very active and very vocal. Unlike traditional contest, a user can not really hide what they are doing and we have a long history now of catching and terminating cheaters. In fact, that's become a big challenge as many historical cheaters have come back and no matter how hard they try, we catch them.

This applies to this contest and many others. People will cheat, that's a fact of running any contest but with one so public, they will get caught, after all, look at it this way, if you were in the #2 or even #3 spot, wouldn't you want to ensure that the #1 spot isn't cheating? If they were, you'd report them in a second. More so, people who are not in the top 3 spots are going to look at and review each of the top listings to see how they did it and if there is cheating, they will report it. We have already caught and terminated a few cheaters and in every case now, another user looking for that top spot reported them. Again, we can't stop cheating but with an SEO contest, it's unlikely they will not get caught.

You can find more information on SEO contest here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SEO_contests

As for knowing who is who, there is a two part answer. One of the rules requires you to list your username on the page itself and two, if for what ever reason they don't list their precharge username and win, they will definitely contact us. If you look, those in the top places make their positions very vocal.

As for running your own SEO contest, the biggest parts of it are going to be users and trust. You must have a strong and active user base of thousands of people who are already in the community and they must know that you have a history of paying those users out on contest. Before we even considered this contest we had already run at least 10 successful contest which everyone was paid out in full and on time.
