After reading another post about someone inquiring if there were any SEO contests going on - I thought that it would be very exciting and hopefully competitive to hold one myself! For those that don't understand, basically a keyword with 0 results in all search engines would be announced, and at the end of the contest deadline, the person with the number 1 ranking in Google would win 1st prize. I'm aware that another webmaster forum is about to kick one off, but that's a 3 month ordeal - I'm looking at going for a 1 month contest, that way it satisfies us that have short attention spans! Look for a post about it really soon on my blog, SEONoobs.Com Most importantly, I would like to get a show of hands of how many of you would be interested in entering? Again, it would be really fun, and I would provide constant updates on who's ranking where. Most of all, I would like to make it worthwhile prize wise - so I'm going to try and gather up sponsors for this event. Target goal is starting Feb 1, and ending on March 1. The rules would include: 1. It has to be a brand new domain. 2. No sneaky cloaking or other shady tactics, but all else is fair. 3. Can be a blog or regular site. and more to come...
