SEO Content - Above FOld Necessary, or Just On Page?

Discussion in 'Google' started by jewelryzen, Oct 5, 2009.

Is it necessary to keep SEO copy above the folder?

Also, is it more effective to keep it right below an H1, H2, or H3 tag?

Or will the crawlers give you credit simply because you are offering quality content, no matter its location on the page?

    Thanks.

dont be so technical, write pages for humans to read, use the headings but dont be so picky about where u place them, if u write it will, Google LSI measures will rank you well for what it is you are promoting...

I don't believe it matters where you have the tags.

Google may not take the on page factors that seriously through since it is currently focusing over the off page optimization elements more.

I'm reading a lot of uninformed posts on this thread. Yes, it matters where the tags are. On page factors are a large part of effective SEO, and finally, @freebet Do you even know what Google LSI is?

Google doesn't care about the fold, visitors do.

You can do both thanks to CSS.

You can make sites look great to humans, and build your pages properly for the search engines.

Having a H1 tag directly after your Body tag, using the exact keyword phrase in H1 that you are targeting for that page -- IS HUGE on google. Don't believe me? Make that one change, and tell me how many spots you jump up.

Yes, you can build links and rank without paying attention to anything this technical, but this makes it much easier and much faster.

It's not necessary as long as your content was interesting and keyword rich. Remember you create that page for reader not for crawler.
