Hello, Like most people I have plenty of Ideas. Problem is, I'm an article writer, not an SEO specialist. I've looked at plenty of information but still don't feel I could take on board a site and would be much better off paying someone else. That being said, most companies want thousands to get a site into the top 10 for a few keywords. As soon as they stop, the site will drop and the money spent is lost. I've found a few freelancers that I am trialling, but just wondering whether anyone has some SEO companies that they have used, that have been paticularly good value for money. Thanks
SEO is an ongoing practice. Once you stop, everything stops.... You have to hit it hard from the get go, get to where you want to be, then just provide yourself with some monthly maintenance to keep your site where you want it. You can try me out, I won't charge thousands...lol
i tried some of them, but as you said the SEO work is not enough to be on the top of the search engine. it is also important that your site much have potential to full fill the people requirement.
I can work for you. Your all keywords will be in top 10 in first few months depending upon traffic. give me PM if you need.
SEO process does take time and a good company will not only build links but will also work on on-site SEO optimization of your website. Then later on hopefully will assist you with the improving your conversion rate.
Grant, dangerous question I bet your inbox was inundated with offers for SEO! As GuruCreation pointed out, SEO is an ongoing practice. Whether you go with an expensive company or a cheaper freelancer once the SEO stops the rankings will inevitably drop because your competitors will still be investing. Whether that happens quickly or not actually depends on the quality of the work that was done, but I don't agree that the money would have been wasted. Any links built, social interactions, content, etc. would all still exist, it's just that the competitors have continued whereas you would have stopped. As an article writer you would actually be very suited to taking it on yourself because a lot of SEO is about producing great content. If I were you I would ask that the freelancers you hire, explain to you everything that they are doing in detail. You can then learn from that investment and eventually you will be able to apply it for yourself.
Thanks, I know bits and bobs, but not enough to take a site anywhere near to a point where it needs to be. In fact, one site I had dropped off the rankings even though I worked hard on it, maybe that is just how it goes! I didn't really get a lot of PM's but I have since employed a freelancer on a test site, so I'll let everyone know how that goes.
Getting a good SEO company is really hard now a days. As one of our friends here stated, once you stopped promoting, then expect your site to drop since your competitors are not stopping. You said you are an article writer, then use that as your primary source of backlink. Write quality articles and submit them to thousand of sites out there. Become a guest blogger and use your writing ability to build links on other sites. Create link wheels with your articles. there are lots of things you can do with your writing skills that can help your site rank.
I don't agree that SEO is an ongoing process, once your site has appeared to be on #1 on all keywords, than there is no need to do seo activity on a regular basis. You can do it on monthly basis.
If you are willing to put in the work and research, you can probably do most of the SEO work yourself. It becomes a question of time vs. money at the end of the day.
Time VS money indeed, which is why I'm looking to find someone else that can probably do twice as much good as I can in half the time
