I prefer DP for most reasons, although I do pop into SEO Chat to read from time to time. I'm never compelled to really post much over there...too impatient to wait for the screens to load....then load again.....then load again...after about the 5th load wait/ thread view - I'm running for the door.

and YES - the ads - especially the creepy talking KRAZY lady thing - just suck!

I'm banner blind for the most part, but my browser still has to load them.....and load them again...and load them again ...:(

DP for me ANYDAY (no offence to SEO Chatters - you all seem nice enough ;))

I was one of the first members to register there, back when it was the Google Dance. Go search for posts made by Nintendo and you'll notice he left about a month ago. Too many ads and being slow was why he left.

I spend more time at SEO Chat than here. I think its just comfort level. They are both similar in my book. Don't really pay attention to the ads or load time. Sometimes I have the time to scan lots of threads - sometimes not. If I find something good stuff here I'll reference it over there and vice versa...as I do with other forums. I know there are plenty of people who look at several forums.

Clearly, if you ran this poll over there you'd see a different type of vote LOL

I'm a big fan of the on-topic nature of SEOChat. I like DP and occassionally visit, but find quite a few off-topic threads and such here that need to be sorted through. I will say this for SEOChat, too, the moderator group, in particular folks like DazzlinDonna, EGOL, SEO_AM, JasontNYC, Rustybrick and others are really top notch folks. There's some people over there I never miss a post from.

I have been away from seo chat for a long time until last week and it was cool to see a lot of familiar faces from here over there

I like their layout a bit, but I too have been turned off because of advertising. I think I would tolerate more advertising here, but here I'm already addicted. I learned of them from this site and I've gone there a few times, but I don't think I've ever posted there.

I also agree that their page loads are slow.

I occasionaly read SEOChat, but the ads... Just too much.

I do agree with Randfish though. Signal to noise here isn't incredible - I'm a contributer to the noise too though...

I like the guys I know here more than anything...
    Great people... :)

You have a great point! Unless you are really looking for info, seochat is REALLY boring.

You are allowed to frequent more than one forum of course ;)

SEOChat has a wealth of information with minimal distraction while DP has bit more of a community feeling with an expanded General Chat. Having broadband the ads don't bother me although I see the point. I imagine it crawls on dialup.

Its actually nice to have two forums that are so different but add so much.

    The only forum I don't like is WMW but I won't go there (in fact I don't :p )

WMW is great for theoretical stuff...

Lots of excellent info there, shame most of the guys I know over there are such idiots.

I don't like moderation - I left pretty much after they edited a post of mine for no reason (Well, no reason I knew of).

I only frequent DP. I only end up at SEOchat (where I don't even have a login, neither on WMW) when I search for a particular issue and they happen to rank well.

I like Moderation on a serious SEO board if it makes reading it for information easier, but they actually make it harder. It can be very frustrating at times.

Things like making DP a swear word are just childish.

I'm afraid of other message boards. I'd end up just reading all day and never getting anything done :)
