How about I get all people interested in participating to send in a 'CV/Resume' with a brief outline of contact details, their motivation for joining and the power they are willing to contribute i.e. links, design talent, SEO experience, copywriting, SEM etc. Would that be handy to organize this unstructured bunch of SEO addicts? That info can then be entered on the site's pw protected participants info pages for future reference. That will also give us a better overview of our design force and a basis to start from. That can also be used for a 'newsletter' update to keep everyone informed of the status (.. now we have this and this domain registered etc. ). Go or No?
I don't have enough time to write myself a CV. I haven't had one in ages and would have to pretty much start from scratch. I might have just mis interperetted (sp?!?!) what you wrote though.
just a quick e-mail really with what I outlined above. Name & contact e-mail What you want to do What you thought of contributing Short description of experience
We will probably always be accepting members. It is taking a while to coordinate. So I have gone and registered the following domain and hosted it. http://www.christmas-search.com If you don't like it, then you need to voice yourself. A few others have been parked, and we can go with them or in an entirely new direction. You will not be able to view the site at that url until 24 - 48 hours from now. Here is the temporary url. http://216.180.233.170/~rescue00 There is currently nothing there except for a simple forum accessible at.. http://216.180.233.170/~rescue00/forum This forum may or may not be staying. This is just a start.
I mentioned it and yes, it is still available, it all depends whether you want it because I have quite enough space there to play with it. TB already put it somewhere so its maybe closed issue, but still, if you need it feel free to say - its machine hosted at http://www.theplanet.com/ (server matrix's strongest division) - check the features graph (just to distinguish this from regular dedicated server - it has much more features & 100% (not 99.9) power/network uptime guaranteed) - http://www.theplanet.com/control/index.html - I wouldnt pay for it neither propose it here if I dont think its the best. Mike
If you need nameservers - here they are: NS1.CONQUESTBUSINESSVENTURES.COM NS2.CONQUESTBUSINESSVENTURES.COM Code (markup): I need to know which domains are in as well as the person who will have inicial FTP access granted in order to setup account.
Hi I've pointed www.homeless-christmas.com to these servers and forwarded homelesschristmas.com to homeless-christmas.com
I like homless-christmas.com best. I'm in. I saw this thread static for a while and now it's booming. I like this idea, and would be happy to provide/write some content. We have an online store I wouldn't mind linking to within an article/page, but it's not necessary. I too am not the best at design, and would suggest we get a template from some templete site. Nothing too fancy, but defintely something that will hold antsy christmas shoppers on the page for light reading. add me to the email list thelop (at) gmail dot com I also have invites if anyone needs/wants a GMail account for this. I have a couple sites I can contribute links from. Could we use Shawn's Ad Network for more links and ads? I can help with SEO, Graphics, links, and whatever else needs help. Just ask.
Content? I set up account on reserved ip (67.18.74.124), but I cant post account information here, it would be silly, wouldnt it? I assume it should go to TB first, right? I mean, I dont think it should be centralized so that only one person has access on a server level - its just that I really dont know who should have it at the moment. Also, Im not for CV writing variant, but some criteria should exist (members site minimum PR/content quality/quantity [or something else that will prove his potencial contribution by itself, without need to write where he went to school when he had 6] as well as centralized communication gateway (moderated mailing list maybe?) as least for sensitive stuff. Currently, I dont know who am I speaking to and who am I expecting reply from. Lets say from all of you, so speak up. And whats it gonna be? CMS? Mambo? Something else?
I can write up some content on finding your ideal Christmas Vacation / Holiday (to us UKers!) I could then place a link to this content from my websites and new forum / blog. Let me know if your interested. Darren
I think we need volunteers for: hosting - done I think? content - well, everyone links in - as above coding - volunteers? SEO - voluneers? submissions to free directories - volunteers? a paypal account (add the donate button) - volunteers? PR in UK/ US - that's me and ?? anything else - and who's the leader of our motley crew ?
For now install Mambo and phpBB. I do not have experience with doing both together unless we want one in a wrapper. Remember folks, the main purpose is to prove our SEO. Also, members with more than 200 posts, and in good standing with this forums should be allowed access (in some terms) to the server.
I dunno about anyone else but i bet there is some experienced people out there wanting to help but have fewer than 200 posts. The more stipulations you put on this the fewer people will want to help, i.e everything should be decided via voting if its to be kept totally unbiased. I do not want to do anything important as I will probably be more of a hinderance than a help but will gladly offer links from all 7 of my websites.
