It really doesn't matter to me which on we target. Just pick one and we'll go for it.

How would we generate revenue from any of this?

Get the PR up then sell links?

I agree with mopacfan though, we do need to pick one then get on with it.

I do have on suggestion. I recommend staying away from anything political. Simply for the fact that there will be too many differing opinions on what the content should say. If it's apolitical, then the content will not be an issue.

Throw Adsense on it. AdSense anything that is your own. That way you can donate it or do whatever. On the main page and any forums, it should rotate equally through the contributors. I can create a simple PHP script to do this. If you don't have an AdSense ID then you can arrange with somebody else to use theirs and just have a channel or two.

    The non-political, non-trademark list has...

    britney spears
    south beach diet
    sp2

I'm for SP2 or XP SP2 as long as the pages we're creating/directing that traffic to have some useful information regarding the update.

We can add some pressure and go for 'christmas'.

    Christmas-dot-(com) has over 600 BLs reported, PR6.

AdSense should throw up some relevant ads and give some revenue to pump into the project or share amongst the participants.

Sorry for my delay. I agree, no political, and hopefully nothing directly related to the war or trademarks.
If I had to choose ,I would also agree with Christmas. If we work it right, we will be just in time for the december month.
    Lets get this going!!!
Who wants to coordinate and set it up? I'm too busy to do it all myself yet i'll be happy to contribute some time to helping the site win!!!
    Gitty Up!!

If you don't want "Christmas" it is time to speak up and make your point.

Otherwise what domain name should we register? I'll pay to register and start hosting it as soon as we come to a consensus. I'll immediately start hosting it and start dishing out FTP and e-mail accounts (unless somebody else wants to start doing this.) I also assume that we will want a forum on this page? Start voting for your admin and moderators if so.

    As Kramer would say: "Giddy-up!"

This could actually generate some significant revenue from adsense as we are getting close and people will start shopping soon.

    How about:

    christmas-cheer
    christmas-info
    christmas-shopping
    all-about-christmas
    tis-the-season

    (can you tell I don't like christmas-search?)

How about a built in consumer search too.

Use something like Mirago or Overture results to feed a "christmas search engine" of some kind.

It could be branded well enough to actually generate some kind of "christmas consumer loyalty" - if that makes any sense.

    Anyway, I'm in.

I can spare a few links too.

I can spend some time submitting it to a list of directories too.

I could also CSS-up the site templates etc...

Are we going to use a CMS of some kind to manage this site?

It could get a bit hard to handle otherwise.

Christmas is a touchy subject for I so I may have to pass. Hopefully all can respect that. I can however spare some links and have a few places that offer great ranking backlinks to help. I am very interested though.

christmas--time with two hyphens is available .com.

I'd expect PPC CTR to go up drastically from end of Oct so AdSense should be interesting.

I know a few people who can write quality copy and are prolly willing to create some content. Myself can help with all the SEO stuff and would like to use the opportunity to get some experience with AdSense and affiliates and other revenue sources. Am willing to accept a supervising-like role in the project to help Bling and others coordinating it.

Are we ready to rock and roll?
