    Hello Everyone !

How are things going? I have experience in SEOas a freelancer. Now I want to move to real jobs in market about SEO, SEM, PCC and SMM. Can you please tell me if there are any certifications for SEO are available those held value worldwide. For example any certification from Microsoft or other relevant source?

    Thanks a ton..:)

There's a Google Certification for Adwords (PPC) I think for like $50. None for SEO that I know of. It's kind of useless to have an SEO certification. Just put on your resume that you have experience with it. During the interview, they'll ask you questions to make sure you know your stuff.

I've actually heard of SEO being a section in marketing degrees but from what I can tell anything you learn will be massively outdated and even then it is only a section of the degree......

No. You need to pass two Google exams to be officially accredited and there's no qualification that carrys more weight when it comes to Online Marketing with search engines.

    http://www.google.com/adwords/professionals/

You need to pass a PPC based exam first but from there you can move on to conversion optimisation, web analytics, display advertising, advanced PPC etc etc.

Certification helps prove your knowledge of SEO and may make clients feel more comfortable working with you whether you have the testimonials and case studies or not.

I liked the way few people responded above: "interviewer will only ask for what you know (your skills) and will not go for any certificates".

If you are looking forward to learn SEO from a reputable source just because to get the most updated knowledge of search marketing and SEO, than it's O.K. I heard about this site few days back from my friend: seo-training-course dot com/ (remove "dot" and add "." instead). They are offering internet marketing courses. Do check them out.

    Good luck,

There is no recognised body that has the authority to offer certificates or diplomas, or anything else in SEO.
Google has awards for adwords and analytics - that's as close, and as good as you'll get.

Just get the basics right. Put it in your resume. Prepare for the tech round. That's it. There are courses around but i wouldn't suggest you to fall for them. They all teach you the same things like keywords, metas, content etc.
Get your site a high page rank and show it off to your boss. It will boost your career in SEO.

I really don't understand the use of doing SEO certifications.. The best certificate of being an SEO Expert are your websites rankings high.

Thanks everybody, I know SEO is really a very wide field and there are always new things coming up everyday. But also there should be a basic certification that can help us as certified people for SEO. I really don't know about my level of knowledge? there are lots of books and resources those I gone through in last 3 years. Made some strategies for getting higher in the SEs and they work really great. Its very easy to get 3-4 positions on 1st page of google for same website and keywords. I havn't tried jobs in SEO industry till now in local market. But, I am going to do so thats why asked for any SEO certifications those can help my CV. Cheers.

The best reply so far. I 100% agree with you.

If your websites are ranking high enough than there's no need to get SEO certified. Your results are the proof of your SEO skills and clients/interviewers only asks for results, not documents or certifications. Bravo AdultSEO...
