But 1 thing is sure, reading those books we can know about few basic points, we can then slowly research on each point and improve.

From what I'm seeing here in the forums daily, many are not reading anything -- just asking questions. Without taking an active, serious interest in your own website especially issues relating to usability, conversion and customer support, neither SEO or any other promotion channel will offer the webmaster much benefit. That's why I suggest to beginners they purchase SOMEONE'S tutorial -- READ IT -- then follow up with questions later in the DP community or elsewhere.

I can recommend SEO tutor's e-book - just finished reading it. It is written for people new to SEO, so I think people who have SEO knowledge might not find it beneficial.

For newbies or experiences SEO's I recommend SEO Book.

Thanks for recommending the SEO Tutor ebook -- forgive me though, but I can't help thinking, and I believe others will see also, that your "evaluation" and support for the "SEO Book" is biased since you have a vested interest in Aaron's affiliate program -- especially posting an affiliate link.

I don't have a vested interest in Aaron's book, but I will say that it is a good book for beginners in seo and it was even quite useful for me with four years of experience in seo. I also think that seomoz's free beginner's guide is useful, seobook has more information in it.

I agree -- which is why I suggest to beginners that they purchase a tutorial to familiarize themselves with SEO FIRST before asking questions. I see the same questions being repeatedly asked over and over again by the same people -- not to mention the most basic elementary questions.

Imagine all the lost productivity time spending weeks and months asking these simple questions! Regardless of the author, buying an inexpensive SEO ebook can save the webmaster a lot of time and energy -- time and effort that could be better spent developing his or her website instead.

Aaron's ebook has a lot of really helpful data -- there are many SEO ebooks that have helpful information -- the point is to get the beginner to ACTUALLY READ one of these tutorials before asking questions! That's why I created the SEO Tutor ebook -- reading it is a no-brainer task for anyone. :)

You probably right. And it should not seriously matter which one book. You don't need to read them all. Just any book from the author, respected by community. And those books- they are not magic tools- you've read one and you are SEO genius. They are just starting points to begin to speak the same language and to understand what people are speaking about. And it is not possible to write a book that will substitute your head

There are no secrets to SEO -- once you understand the concepts, any success will largely depend upon the user's personal inclination to apply their knowledge and skills consistently over time.

Beyond mere information, money or affiliation, PERSISTENCE is the single most important element to success (for any pursuit). No ebook, regardless of who wrote it, how many pages it contains, or the recommendations it receives from others can ever instill the requisite, innate, tenacious ability required to follow a given plan of execution without quitting.

However, the SEO Tutor© optimization guide does make suggestions on how to achieve your goals.

I recommend the SEO book because I've read it - the fact that I have an affiliate link is nothing to do with it. As I said I enjoyed both yours and the SEO book - so don't see what the problem is.

The problem is your recommendation in part. One could easily get the impression that your suggestion is less than genuine since you include an affiliate link right next to it. Secondly, you didn't list any details for WHY you recommend SEO Book, so one could conclude your intentions were financially motivated.

Regardless, it's still my hope that newbies to SEO and internet marketing will pick up a copy of Aaron's SEO Book, mine or another's and get a jump start on what's needed to optimize their site and how to effectively complete the task themselves. I just happen to think my SEO E-Book is more accessible.

Don't get me wrong; I don't have an issue with you selling Aaron's ebook; in fact I wish you the best and hope you sell a lot of them. Another SEO tutorial in PDF format that I personally suggest is "Google Secrets" by Dan Sisson, of Blue Moose Webworks. An excellent read and around the same price.

    SEO Tutor,

Your ebook doesnt rank for the terms "seo book" ; "search engine optimization book" ; search engine optimization ebook" and "search engine optimization tutor" on googles first page of results..

you rank 1 for "SEO Tutor" which is obvious...

    ???

Aaron ranks on page 1 for all the terms I mentioned first if not on the nr1 spot

Does this means that book is not good? i dont think so. Aaron's book is good, no doubt.

But if we debate on Rankings, it's not the sole judge of quality of book. Ranking depends upon the age of domain too. Just base on this we cant question other people's integritty. :D

I have read both the book and both are different and usefull for newbies. IMO :D

z00pedup, what's the point of your statement?

Is this a comparison between a site (mine) launched last month to another site (Aaron's) that's been promoted for a couple of years?

    1) I'm not targeting those terms (yet)
    2) I haven't had much opportunity to promote the site (yet)

I'm a working SEO; guess I'm guilty of putting my clients' websites before my own. Forgive me; can you give me a little more time? I promise to do better. :D

Again, you know what they say about "opinions" -- some of them are bigger than others. :D
