I recently bought two SEO Books:

Search Engine Optmization: One Hour a Day

    and

    SEO for Dummies.

I've listen some good stuff about them, but would like to have you talking about them.

    Best Regards

    I like Aaron Wall's book - www.seobook.com

He updates it regularly and has a lot of good connections within the SEO/M industry, so it covers a lot of good stuff.

I vote for Aaron's book as well. Readable and written by pro, regularly updated.

I think I only barely touched the SEO for dummies one due to lack of time, but any printed book on SEO is obsolete at the time when it makes it to bookstore shelves.

    Aaron, wrote a book?

I don't think that Printed Books get obsolete very easy.

    IS SEO SO DYNAMIC???

I tend to disagree, for a number of reasons.

While Aaron's SEO Book and website are undoubtedly popular and both offer excellent tips, our SEO tutorial in many respects far exceeds Aaron's PDF guide in usability, clarity, simplicity and resources.

Until you've had the opportunity to examine SEO Tutor©, your comment must be filed under "opinions."

I also like The SEO Book. The book seems very reasonable to me. But I don't know about books that you've bought, so may be they are good. I general, before buying this stuff I'm trying to do some research on author.

I agree, seobook is the only book on SEO with constant never ending updates.

Also Planet Ocean has the unfair advantage to winning the SE war which
    is updated every month.

I also like stomping the search engines by brad fallon as it better
and throughly explains his SEO strategies. He makes over $5 mil
    a month form his website.

With all due respect to Aaron Wall and his product, from all the plugs I see constantly posted in this forum recommending seobook, can someone who has actually read Aaron's PDF please give me some of the reasons why they liked it -- other than "it's great", Aaron has "connections", it's #1 for the term 'seo book', his blog comments are updated daily, or because they have a vested interest in his affiliate program. Please list some actual examples of what you've learned and how seobook has helped you.

Maybe the features and helpful comments you list can assist others and give them the information needed to make intelligent decisions for buying a tutorial. Maybe I too can learn a few things from Aaron's work to improve upon my own SEO ebook - which in turn ultimately benefits everyone.

I have read it (parts of it) when I already knew about SEO.

It is well written for people who never heard about it. And for regular people. One doesn't have to be a geek nor know much about IT to read it. It is also very useful for those who don't want to learn SEO but want to hire good SEO person.

It is low on bulls**t, and doesn't sound like someone's sales copy to sell other products, nor doesn't make claims like "earn 1000 per day" etc., that ads lots of credibility. While for example, on SEO forums you can learn new things and recent trends, but all are high on BS that you have to sift through which is hard for newcomers.

It's comprehensive, and mixes well general good business sense approaches (eg. branding) with pure SEO (link building).

The basics of SEO are IMHO very well worked out there, that's why I usually recommend it to people looking to learn core/basic SEO stuff (which is most of those who are looking for SEO book anyway).

Not very detailed, I know, but it's long since I read it.

I can't recommend how to improve your book, but maybe your marketing:
While I have seen virtually hundreds of SEO/SEM/Google/Adsense/Internet tutors on the web, there are only few people who are not afraid to come up with their name and stand up for their product. That ads lots of credibility. He is also very accessible and answers emails with all kinds of questions. Which all is rare in this otherwise "overnight internet millionaire book" industry.

I wasn't doing much of serious SEO so far, despite working in related areas, but I plan to do soon, and perhaps next week if time is available, will go through Aaron's book, and through the SEO for dummies book, and if that happens, I will post a comparison of what to expect from each.

You can't expect that $50 book will reveal the secrets that top SEO's are using to make hundreds of thousands $. Those people don't waste time book writing, and even if any book author would know such methods, it would be very unwise to publish them, because of various reasons.

    Moreover, SEO != tricks.

I now have all three above named books and will review them as time allows.

(And btw. Aaron Wall has a birthday today.... accidentally noted when browsing on forum's main page.)

    and then...
    ...?

Like I said before, it covers a lot from building links to URL structuring a site to content and other filters. Go buy it and find out for yourself. You should have done that anyway, since you have a competing product. Your competitor's product should be your bestfriend, so you can produce a more comprehensive and content rich product.

I'm new to web design and SEO. But the things that are covered in Aaron's SEO Book, the stile used and explanations are looking clear to me. Some of us are not experts and this book is for them. But I would recommend to study other sources also. I'll check Brad Callen's free book. And nothing can substitute your own experience.

I have a copy of just about every competitor's product in the SEO arena, including Aaron Wall's SEO Book. The purpose of this post is to solicit opinions from users about the quality of another author's work, as well as my own, in order to produce a more refined tutorial for people. So far I'm mostly met with opposition to this endeavor, however, I am making progress via other input channels.

Thanks again for your learned advice.

Honestly, I wouldn't be soliciting in this type of forum, when people get flamed daily for asking opinions on software/tutorials/ebooks/etc..

I'd use your customer base to solicit those types of questions. You should get good feedback.
