There should not be any difference to Google. The only difference would occur if someone is less likely to link to your because of your domain.
These two TLDs are almost the same. On the other hand, some TLDs like .edu or .gov will get better optimization result.
Effects should be according to whole optimization process irregardless of it's domain extension. Though before .edu or .org sites have natural higher authority, many people abused it so Google have measure to know which sites are legitimate and which are just naming it.
Google does not consider domain extension as a ranking factor. Ranking will depend on the SEO effort you are going to place.
Recently extension doesn't matter as of now everybody is cross registering domains like me.com, me.org, me.net. So the extension will not make any difference in SEO.
Google is giving the first priority to .gov, then .edu then .org. You will get some privilege with the .org domain.
That's some useful info thanks... I wasn't really aware that it was that much of effect since I have had success with both!
Can you show me SERP full with .info and .biz? For me /I have all of them .net , .org and .com/ extension matter to Google, I don't know how, but it matters! .ORG is better, people trust it, so Google trust it too.
Every TLD holds equal weightage for search engine unless it is country specific domain. its not like that your website on .org or .edu will do better than other TLDs... unless you meet the expectations of that TLD type Other domains like .edu and .gov may have extra edge if and only if they have good content which is very good from user's standpoint.
I myself am a live example of "extensions dont matter much". I have got my business site in .org only because I could not find the appropriate domain name in .com as it was already taken. However within 3 months or installing the .org site and good SEO, I am now ahead of the .com site of the same domain name with more than 5 keywords on google So basically it doesnot matter, what matters is the way you present your site to the Big G as well as other search engines
