Is there any SEO benefit of translating your site into different languages. I would like to do something like site.com/xx/content where xx is the language code. My site is already indexed very well by google. Will translated pages also be indexed or would they be seen as duplicate content? If not, would it be more possible to get traffic from different parts of the world that doesn't necessarily speak English?
Translated pages will be indexed and ranked as unique content. They will also count towards the size of your domain (number of pages) which can boost the ranking of your site overall. You might consider also changing the 'charset' and 'language' meta tags of the translated pages, so they are identified by the search engines as the appropriate languages and listed on the respective localised Google sites.
This is a good idea to improve your overall density of content. I would be careful with the method of translation you are using especially if you have native speaking users visit your page and realize your translation makes no sense. It could increase your bounce rate from users in other countries.
Yeh, that is one concern - the translation would be by google translator, then stored locally. It wouldn't exactly be a great 'human' translation.
For the love of God, don't do that. Either do it right or don't do it at all. Your site will DESERVE to go down the toilet if you stuff it with junk, i.e. machine translated pages.
I guess it depends if people find it useful or not - if it's good enough to read and at least understand, then maybe it's worth it. A search engine can't tell if something is grammatically correct or not.

Soon google identify that you have develop webpages for particular country and language. This solution will save money and time also. It will charge less cost for doing marketing.
