I wouldn't advice you to read any books about SEO... Because SEO changes almost EVERY sinlge day... Use some forums (like this one!) about SEO and read topics there... Try everything you think it would work and if people are also confident with the results at all. Soon you will learn many new things! ;)

SEO is a techniques whose world goes round daily. Every other day there is something or the other changing or updating. I would prefer you reading more and more blogs and articles instead of buying books and reading them.

Agree with your point, practical is always better to reading. But she is fresher didn't know anything, if she start reading from forums (like this) then what she ll understand when she didn't know anything about SEO? Every topic ll be bouncer to her.... Better thing is she should start from reading and clear her doubts here...

Amazon has many but it might be better learning SEO from website rather then books since SEO field moves so fast that the information in the books tend to be old by the time they are published.

I recommend Moz.com forum. A lot of good questions with many answers.

Here's a reference you can use to get started.
However, make sure to read current news about SEO in MOZ blog and searchengineland too, to keep you up-to-date.

I've found HubSpots particularly useful back when I started doing SEO alongside Google's which was posted above. It's called "FREE EBOOK: LEARNING SEO FROM THE EXPERTS".

Many people have mentioned this, but there are a ton of forums (like this one) who offer free advice if you're willing to look for it.

Other than that, I highly recommend taking a look at
    1. Neil Patel's blog (neilpatel.com/blog/)
    2. Patt Flyn's blog (smartpassiveincome.com)
    3. Income Diary (incomediary.com)
these are great places to grow as a digital marketer and grow on many skills such as SEO, design, conversion rate optimization ect.
