SEO basics

    hello there i want to learn SEO on my own.Can you guys refer me to some basic seo sites or free ebooks which i can go through to get a fair idea of what seo is and come up with different questions after that?Also does seo work the same way for blogspot blogs and conventional websites?since i have blogspot blogs and not conventional websites...........waiting for your reply:)
