SEO Back Door, is it good or bad?

I heard ways on how you could seo a website and I also heard about back doors. Is it a good practice or a bad practice? How does it work? I want to be careful on my seo for reason that I might be doing it without me knowing it. I just want to be on the safe side.

I'm not sure, I just heard it from my co-worker and it's really embarrassing for me to ask what it means or what it do or how to avoid it. I tried to google it but I got no luck. I just started my career in seo last week. They told me about back links and link building.

 

back doors are penalty reasons for googles.

So if you manage to use them without been catch that is good.
If G catch you, for sure you will be banned/penalized.

The are probably referring to black hat seo techniques. So if you google black hat seo you should be able to find the requisite information.
